A while back a member of the Acajoom team visited us with regards to a support related query. After a resolve was made, there was some interesting dialogue about using the editor in a way that could carry template style across to user’s mail clients. We believed we had an answer and asked if some sort of collaboration might be possible. After welcoming our proposition, we set about creating a Newsletter Mode for the JoomlaFCK editor.

THE NEWSLETTER MODE

The Newsletter Mode works automatically when used in partnership with the Acajoom (newsletter) component. The editor first translates the template styles into inline styles which are embedded into the newsletter when selected. The translation also extends to Acajoom content tags system {contentitem:3|0} by converting the article's CSS styles to inline styles, thus allowing the user to create, save and then import the article into Acajoom for mailing.

Adrien, the Project Manager of Acajoom, has test driven the system and was kind enough to write the following review:-
“The Acajoom team recommend the use of the JoomlaFCK editor which will enable you to serenely create your Newsletter and the editor will automatically take care of the compatibility with mail clients. Also, we never experienced any issue with the JoomlaFCK editor such as weird characters which can appear using other Joomla editors.  JoomlaFCK team really did a great job with their new Newsletter mode, which will facilitate the creation of newsletters in Acajoom.”
Adrien, Project Manager of Acajoom

Since the project was launched our aspiration has been to fund the project via a donation model but due to its growing popularity and the limited contribution received; we’ve needed to rethink the non-commercial model a little!

Change can mean improvement, so instead of making the editor a commercial commodity we decide to improve our service by offering professional SUPPORT and downloads on a subscription bases. The subscription applies for the new support section on our forums and will grant you access to any preleased versions, bugs & fixes.

So if you are a commercial user and need a support model that will offer yourself and your client’s peace of mind,  then we hope this new additions will be a welcomed relief!
